PILGRIMAGES OF THE VIRGIN OF AGRES

The Virgin of Agres Pilgrimages are held every weekend in September at the municipality of Agres. This tradition is part of local festivities and is linked to devotion for the Virgin of Agres, whose history dates back to an appearance at the Agres Castle and to the protection of the image during a fire in the Santa María de Alicante Church. During this month, believers undertake pilgrimages that keep alive this religious and cultural custom of the community.
